The way we approach bullying hasn’t worked for a long time. Prevnet recommends removing the labels. FINALLY, here is a tool that does that.
The No Such Thing as a Bully System asserts that both children and adults use bully actions and victim responses at times in their lives. One set of tools prevents both. Shifting the focus from labels to individual actions is key to making progress with bullying.
Kelly’s book, No Such Thing as a Bully: Shred the Label, Save a Child, provides guidance for parents, certified facilitators and schools. Her other books include This is Out of Control! A Practical Guide to Managing Life’s Conflicts, and Burgerslinger.
With a diverse range of expertise, Kelly specializes in First Nations wellness, divorce, custody and access and conflict management. She is also a Certified Trainer at the Master Level for the government- approved Skills for Success Training for organizations.
Recognized with an award for her ethical business practices by The Better Business Bureau, Kelly has also received accolades such as the Government of Alberta Person of Inspiration Award for her significant contributions in combating bullying.
Why choose no such thing as a Bully?
Do you have a child who is experiencing bully actions?
Do you have a child who is using bullying actions ?
Are you a school looking for new, innovative ways to create a peaceful school environment, somewhere everyone feels safe?
We break things down for you and help you understand how and why people use bullying actions and victim responses and how we can change that !
This new framework throws traditional bullying on its head, examining bully actions and victim responses and teaching lessons that help each and every one of us, adult and child, stop ourselves from falling into either category. People who communicate well and have developed a strong self-concept, balanced thinking, balanced approaches and empathy for others are less likely to use bully actions or victim responses.
We are SHREDDING the labels and will not be referring to people as “bullies” or “victims”. We replace that with “bully actions” and “victim responses”. Every one of us uses both of these throughout our lives. One set of skills solves both ! Lets work together to spread kindness and create a more peaceful environment for everyone.
